Chapter 8

**6pm Astrid house.**

Astrid just came back from work exhausted, but what can she do? She has to prepare for the date with Robin.

She walked to her wardrobe and scanned for the clothes to wear, but she couldn’t find any. She placed her hands on her waist and ransacked the whole wardrobe again, then she quickly saw a new dress. She got it as a gift, but hadn’t worn it before. She quickly took it and placed it on the bed then took out a black low heel and her undies.

She pulled her clothes and stepped into the bathroom and took her bath. She came out after some minutes with a towel wrapped around her, she walked to the dressing table and sat on it. She took her cream and creamed her body, she doesn’t like makeup, so she just applied a little lip gloss on her lips and a little and rubbed a little powder on her face which is almost invisible.

When she was done she walked to the bed and took her undies, she wore them before putting on the short gown. It looked so sexy on her, exposing parts of her thigh. It’s a black strapless gown with an opening at the front showing parts of her breast.

Beautiful is an understatement to us for her, she looks so perfect and her straight fresh legs is something a man can die for. She sat on the bed and put on the shoe. She’s not really a fan of heels, so she has low heels. But who cares, it looks good on her.

She took her bag containing her phone and checked the time. She had just 10 minutes to go, so she sat on her bed scrolling through pages on Instagram. Her room mate Joanna isn’t around, she was the only one around.

Minutes later, she heard a knock on the door, she knew immediately it was Robin or the driver he sent, so she stood up and carried her bag before walking out of the house. Getting outside, she met a young man standing with his hand at his back.

“Boss sent me, pls follow me” He said and started going, she had no other choice than to follow him till they got to the car and he opened the door for her and she stepped in.

She was thrown aback when she saw Robin, she wasn’t expecting him to be in the car.

“Good evening sir”She greeted with a bow, but it seemed Robin was lost staring at her, his mouth was left open and he didn’t stop staring. And this made Astrid uncomfortable, it made it look as though there was something on her face. She shifted uncomfortably on the seat and faced her front.

“Sir which restaurant should I drive to” His driver said, and that brought him out of his drooling state

“Drive to the top one restaurant,we have booked a place there” he said and the drive to the restaurant started. He turned to Astrid who had her eyes fixed on the window.

“Hi,” he said awkwardly and Astrid faced him with a small smile on her face.

“Hi” she returned it and faced the window again. The silence in the car is enough to kill,.and the tension in the air was visible. Robin looked at her again and said.

“You look beautiful by the way” She turned to him and smiled.

“Thank you, and you look handsome too” she said, he nodded and the car became silent again. But it didn’t take time before they got to the restaurant, the car pulled up in the parking lot and the driver came down and opened the door for them.

They both stepped out, and Robin walked to the other side and held her hands, immediately his hand touched hers, she became nervous, and he noticed.

“Be calm, I don’t bite,” he said, and she tried to calm down as they walked to the space reserved for them in the VIP section. Robin pulled a chair out for her and she sat on it before he went across her and sat down too.

She placed her bag on the ground and placed her hands on her laps. A waiter came with a jotter and the list of food they have and placed it on the table.

“Sir, ma’am, what do you like to order for?” He asked calmly.

“Get us your special meal for today and a red wine”Robin said

“On it sir”the waiter bowed a little before leaving, the table was silent so Robin tried to bring a conversation up to clear the awkwardness off the room.

“Can you tell me more about yourself?” He asked and placed his hands on the table waiting for her to reply.

“I came from a family of four and from a poor family where I have to work to pay for my tuition fee,.and that of my lil sister” she said calmly trying to hide the nervousness behind her voice.

“That’s… I don’t know what to say” he said trying not to make her feel more nervous

.”So what made you agree to my proposal?” He further asked.

“I found out that the money would go a long way, so that was why I agreed to it, and besides, it’s a year thing, and I think I can cope with it” She said and he only nodded.

Few minutes later, their orders arrived and they started eating. Robin stopped eating and faced her.

“Do you like the meal?” He asked. She raised her head and stopped eating.

“Yes, it’s nice and I love it.” She replied and went back to her food, and Robin did the same thing.

Few minutes later, they were done with the food and the waiter came to pack the plates away and opened the wine for them and poured it in their respective glasses.

They took it and began to drink. Robin kept his cup, and placed his hand on top of Astrid’s hands that’s now on the table.

“I promise not to cross my boundary with the short period you’ll stay in my house, so please, be relaxed and feel free to talk OK?” He said and as if that was what she wanted, she felt relaxed and nodded her head.

Minutes later they were done and they walked to the car holding hands, when they got there, Robin opened the door for her and she entered before he joined her. The drive to her house began and it wasn’t as quiet as the first time, they talked about random things and finally they got to her apartment, and the car stopped. Astrid got down and waved at Robin and he did the same.

He waited for her to go inside before telling the driver to drive.
